About MukaCariza

From my home base in Riel, a village near the Dutch city of Breda, I, Mukakalisa Mukahagumakuramba, the driving force behind MukaCariza, take care of what is most important in my life: my family and my desire to raise awareness for contemporary African creativity and expand culture.

A rich and vibrant culture that honors love, acceptance and togetherness above all else. The print on the MukaCariza bags and accessories is the flag that proudly conveys these concepts. The representation of an origin that, like the Rwandan sunset, combines all colors into one beautiful experience.

I want to redefine the meaning of luxury by creating bags and accessories that radiate cheerfulness and companionship, and that are produced in a sustainable, respectful and responsible way.

In my home village of Kabona, the women of her tribe gathered to make fabric prints for special occasions. The memory of this experience inspired me to work with only the most dedicated professionals to help me achieve my dreams.

My bags and accessories show an understated synthesis of African heritage and European craftsmanship. Because for us, only a clean and refined design is the object that you can really desire and with which you can build a long-term relationship.

Loosely translated, MukaCariza means a pat on the back or a bit of luck. A small but meaningful gesture that tells you that the loving rays of the sun will always reach you and enable you to never give up, look forward, mature and blossom.

With MukaCariza you are never alone.
